I didn't take any photos of the dirt because I washed it ASAP. It wasn't totally off-putting, but I didn't really want to put the headset on and have it so close to my mouth and nose). I washed the whole thing off with some isopropyl alcohol and there still was a distinct smell to it that I couldn't exactly place (dog mixed with cigarette smoke? Not sure. Dirt in the microphone on/off switch where you couldn't even move the switch, there were stains on the cord and earcups. The microphone was covered in debris and god knows what else. While it claimed to be out of the box in excellent condition, it wasn't really "cleaned" and I wouldn't call it "excellent". It wasn't clear that this product was refurbished. Has anyone been able to find a solution if soo please link or explain.Misleading listing, the headset refurbished. I have gone to multiple forums looking for solutions but it seems many who have purchased the G230 or G430 have the same issue. I uninstalled audio drivers and have had them reinstalled still my mic doesn't seem to work. My mic is not broken but it seems the device just won't respond on my computer. I checked my transmit levels and it seems fine. I disabled noise cancellation and anything that would make the mic quieter than it already is. No choppiness or voice cut out while use).
I used it last night despite having hours of troubleshooting on said device (Worked fantastically. I can hear audio but the mic seems to not work on a consistent basis. I already plugged it in the analog ports and still no dice. Despite it actually showing in the recording devices I cannot get it to transmit voice.
However, ever since I've solved that problem my mic does not respond to anything and everything. Early on this week my mic didn't work on steam but responded through skype (solved). My G230 is connected through an SYBA USB adaptor.
